Drunken Lady Displays Knife in Sattahip Market; â€“ Afraid of Being Raped

An attractive woman got drunk on rice whisky, so she carried a knife to protect herself in the middle of Sattahip market, because she was frightening of being raped.

SATTAHIP – October 26,2013 [PDN]: – At 8pm, Police Lieutenant Captain Sinsamut Boontassana, who was the detective officer of the shift, received a report that there was an insane woman carrying a knife and walking around in the Sattahip market. She was in front Jae Kai’s fish & rice shop, at Moo-1 in Sattahip, (south of Pattaya City) and this caused some public concern, so the police went by motorcycle patrol to investigate.

At the market, people there were frightened, because a middle aged woman, wearing a blue spaghetti stripes shirt, short flower printed miniskirt and carrying a cloth bag containing her personal belongings, was walking around holding a kitchen knife in her hand.

It was apparent that she had drunk a lot of alcohol, so the police tried to talk to calm her down for around 10-minutes, before they could snatch the knife from her. Then the police brought her to the police station, because they were afraid that she really could be lured into be sexual abuse or that she could possibly take her own life. She said her name was Mrs. Orawarn Prajirasa, (38 years old), and that she had drunk strong (‘30% overproof’) rice whiskey, so she got heavily intoxicated. She went on to state that she was afraid of being raped, so she carried the knife to protect herself.

Police Lieutenant Captain Sinsamut Boontassana, the detective who was responsible for the case, said that when questioning the local residents, they said that they saw the woman was walking since the early morning as if she were drunk, within the Sattahip morning market. As she was walking with a knife in her hand, this made people afraid, but when asking her, she said that she got into an argument with her boyfriend and became stressed, so she had drank heavily and became somewhat stupefied. Luckily no injuries occurred, other than to the pride of the lady in question, but excessive drinking of alcohol does lead to some unusual problems.
