Rayong Faces Heavy Flood, – Villages And Rice Fields Collapse.

Royal Thai Navy joined with the IRPC Co. Ltd, in bringing the sand bags to help local people throughout the night after the water dyke on the Rayong River collapsed. Water flooded into the village and also collapsed thousands of rais (in area), of the rice fields that were severely damaged. If there is no more heavy rain again, then within 10-days the situation will be better and may return to normal conditions.

RAYONG – October 20, 2013 [PDN]; – A journalist reported that after heavy raining in the Rayong Province and nearby areas, it caused a higher amount of water than usual in the reservoir so that government officers had to release water. This made a large amount of water flow to the lower the areas that include thousands rais of rice fields, gardens and villages, that located near the heavily flooded Rayong river. The Royal Thai Navy joined with the IRPC Co. Ltd. to bring units of sailors and the company’s employees to fill sand bags and deliver them to local people’s houses that were flooded in areas of Moo 6, Tambon Ta-phong and Moo 10, Tambon Ta-khan, around Amphur Meuang in the Rayong Province.

Vice Admiral Weeraphan Sukkon, Commissioner of the Royal Thai Navy (Section 1), revealed that now the people of Rayong Province, especially in Tambon Ta-phong, Tambon Na Ta-kwan and Tambon Ta-khan got so much trouble because of the continuous heavy rainfall caused the dyke to collapse and water flooded into people’s houses. Therefore, Vice Admiral Weeraphan sent the GMC car and units of Rayong’s sailors to assist the people in immigrating out of the flooded area to prevent further danger that may have occurred at any time. The sand bags to build up the wall to a height of approximately 1.20 meters within Rayong River Park village that is located near the Rayong River.

Furthermore, the journalist reported that last night there were sailors of Royal Thai Navy, Thai police officers, officers of Tambon Ta-khan and Tambon Ta-phong municipalities, plus rescuers of Pornkusol foundation and the staff of the IRPC Co. Ltd. Rayong Province has assisted the people and gave assistance to the traffic on Baan Laeng-Chark Bok road, that was flooded. They also assisted in picking up and sending away people when their hoses got flooded higher than 1-metre, which damaged hundreds of houses.
