Man from â€˜Copyrightâ€™ Crashes Check Point Then Tries Deceiving Police

Nongprue police chased a young man from “song copyright” gang, when he rammed his car through a police check-point. Finally he was arrested and police found a gun, ammunition and weapons hidden in the car. He did not surrender and boasted that he knew one of the region’s police chiefs, then protested at being arrested, and attempted to frame the police, but was finally charged for a wide range of offences.

(See the picture of the outcry between the police and the man) A journalist reported that Police Lieutenant Captain Watchara Suksakul, (Vice Suppression Inspector with the police and police volunteer forces), jointly held a press conference to announce that they had caught a criminal suspect, who escaped a police check point and had refused to be searched. However, but he did not avoid being arrested and was later found with ammunition and a gun, plus other weapons. The name of the suspect is Mr. Surapol Thongprasert, a 38 years old man, living at house number 556/1, Changphuak Rd. Naimuang, Nakhornratchaseema. He reputedly earned a living by him and his gang pretended to be agents from music companies and threatening people who use the songs. Police arrested him with a 9mm handgun with a magazine, four 9mm cartridges, (one of them in the gun), plus 2-knives.

Police Lieutenant Captain Watchara Suksakul, revealed that he was at the check point at Tungklom-Tarlman, under the command of Police Colonel Somnuk Janket, to check if there were any illegal people. Suddenly a man drove up in a bronze Chevy “Rolet Optiva” (Dor Phor 4570 Bangkok), and the police told him to stop the car for a police search, but he refused and drove though the checkpoint and then escape The police drove quickly to pursue the man and he was apprehended and arrested at Soi 10, Tungklom-Tarlman.

The man did not get out of the car, talked very impolitely, saying that he knew ‘one of the big police men of the region’ and looked down on the police, so Lieutenant Captain Watchara Suksakul reported to Police Colonel Somnuk for instructions, and the colonel commanded him to be very strict with the suspect. Colonel Somnuk promptly came to the crime scene, and police brought the man to the police station, and when the police searched him, they found a gun , ammunition and knives, but the man told police that the gun belonged to some police that he knew.

Primarily the police have allegations that the man had a gun and ammunition in his possession, without permission to carry them in a public place. Furthermore, he was protesting at being searched, resisting arrest and treating government officers in a disdainful and disrespectful manner. The journalist also stated that while the questioning continued, the man did not stop talking and boasting about himself, and told the journalist that his right to see his relatives had been curtailed by the police.
