Samphanthamit Rd is where you'll find bars and accommodation.

Its a 10minute walk from the Udon Thani train station.

Check the threads in North eastern section as that is where Udon Thani is.

I usually stay and drink at the Irish Clock. There are a couple of bar areas close to here.

All you've got to do is get to the bus station and from there you can find a BAR. Just ask the locals, "Where BAR!?".

up to you

In Udon Thani Top mansion and The Irish Clock are the 2 most popular places to stay for falang, both are within walking distance of train station and bus station and of course there are plenty of tuktuks but be sure to negotiate price to before you get on board or you will pay 400bt instead of 100bt. Once you know the area you will not pay anymore than 40-60bt. The falang friendly bars etc are in that area and if the accommodation mentioned is full as they often are there is plenty of other stuff in the area. The big shopping complex Central Plaza is also close to there.

The lady who owns the Irish Clock can normally arrange a tuk tuk if you need one. The price always seems reasonable whether it is to the racetrack or just getting around town.
