Typhoon "Naree" that hit the East of Thailand on Monday caused heavy rainfall in Pattaya, making a group of people seize the opportunity to post pictures that showed pictures of floods that were exaggerated by an extent as the floods were as violent as shown in the pictures that are circulating on Facebook were from 2011.

PATTAYA – October 17, 2013 [PDN]; Pattaya City has said that pictures of a supposed floods in Pattaya were taken back in 2011 and were re-posted on the social networking site. This picture was a hot topic yesterday, the picture was shared several thousand. Pattaya City fears that this misleading picture will cause disruptions to tourism in Pattaya, which of course led to this impromptu announcement.

Pattaya City stated that several foreigners who were about to travel to Pattaya called up Pattaya City and asked officers whether the pictures were real or not. As for now, no tours or hotel reservations were cancelled yet.
