Royal cruise hotel pattaya or penthouse hotel

Hi all,

 

This is my first post and it will probably sound like alot of the other first posts on the forum....well here goes....

 

I'm going to visit Pattaya in September with 5 of my mates. I stayed in the Royal Cruise Hotel ,Pattaya briefly in 2005. I found it to be ok but a bit far from the madness that is Walking Street. I'm considering staying at the Penthouse hotel as I have noticed that it looks quite fun and would be accommodating to 6 twenty-something lads looking for a bit of fun. Anyone got experience of this hotel?

If you do some research, via the internet, you will find that the Penthouse has a terrible reputation. Ripp-offs / bill padding / cockcroaches everywhere / damp and musty.......................

 

It sure does look good in the pic's that they post, but in reality it is not quite as it seems. I have had a few friends who have booked in there in the past, and all but one checked out after the first night.

 

It, along with the club underneath, is always "under new management". It has also been involved with various scams in the past by selling 'shares' etc.

 

In fact, most regular visitors and mongers that live here , rarely even go to Soi Pattayaland 2 as it has such a bad reputation for being pushy for lady drinks / bill padding / the girls thinking 'above their station' etc. It is unfair on the few good and well managed bars there, but they are in the minority...........

 

There are many places to stay mate, far cheaper than the Penthouse, and where you will have no problems at all.

I would agree about the Penthouse, stayed 4 days this month. NOT WORTH IT! Over priced they stuck us everywhere they could for whatever they could.

 

If you want to have quiet and still be close to walking st. check out the jasmine mansion.

I stayed at the Penthouse once. I didn't have a problem with bill padding but there were some bugs. The one thing that made it worth it was the go go pole in my room. If you stay there ask for the Pnom Phen room and make sure your room has a pole in it.

Try Galaxy Suites on Soi Diamond off Walking St. Nice clean rooms and free WiFi. The rooms are located directly above Heaven Above A-go-go. Be sure to ask for the 1,000 baht special. Click on link below to view pictures.

Thanks for the advice guys,

 

I think I'll keep searching before I finally make my mind up. Wouldn't be a fan of the Bugs in the rooms so I guess the Penthouse is not the palce for me n my mates. I like the look of the Galaxy Suites and if I can get one for 1000 Baht I would'nt complain!

The penthouse also has lots of extras in the room that they are more then happy to sell you.

Min key ring had several keys on it. 1 was the room 1 went to the handcuffs in the room never did figure out the last 1.

I stayed there a few nights about 3 years ago interesting place but not worth a repeat.

Never been there but Secrets hotel is right in the action. NO Hassles hotel.
