Pattaya Police Close Ukrainian Abduction Case After Arresting 2 Suspects

Pattaya Police announce the arrest of two men who impersonated being Immigration Police officers and abducted a Ukrainian tourist who was held ransom for 1 Million THB.

PATTAYA – Sep 27, 2013 [PDN]; Following the police report that was filed by 30 year-old Mr. Olexander Konratenko, Pattaya Police were able to arrest 2 Thai men who abducted and held Mr. Olexander ransom for 1 Million THB.

After a questioning session with the two suspects, it was known that a fellow Ukrainian business who was also based in Pattaya allegedly ordered the Thai men to abduct Mr. Olexander as he was said to have owed the businessman 1 Million THB.

Mr. Chanai, aged 20 and Mr. Piya, aged 35 after an arrest warrant was issued on Thursday. Pattaya Police are still looking for a third abduction suspect. Mr. Olexander was said to have been taken by the two suspects at Soi Welcome hotel off Jomtien Beach.

The two arrested suspect claimed that they were working as debt collectors who were hired by Mr. Illia Masnikov, aged 48, the owner of the Diamond TV Centre on Pattaya Second Rd.

Mr. Miasnikov was said to have employed the three men who were going to receive a commission if they were able to recover the 1 Million THB debt off Mr. Olexander.

Pattaya Police are now close to the case and will try everything to arrest the third suspect as well as Mr. Miasnikov.
