DSI Arrests Former Bank Employee For Selling Fake Bank Notes

An ex-employee of a bank was arrested by the DSI for selling/trading foreign bank notes. He was suspected of receiving numerous order for the fake bank notes.

BANGKOK – September 18, 2013 [PDN]; At the Headquarters of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), the arrest of 67 year-old Mr. Pisit. The arrest happened after the US Secret Service of the American Embassy worked with the DSI to find out the roots of the bank notes that were circulating in Thailand.

The DSI had made a plan to directly buy from Mr. Pisit, the suspect. As soon as the fake bank notes were confirmed, police charged Mr. Pisit and were able to eventually arrest him. It was announced that 1,000, 100 USD bank notes were seized which had an estimated value of over 3 Million THB. Police said that they were able to find documents that showed how to fake bank notes in Mr. Pisit’s house.

Following investigations, it was known that Mr. Pisit used to work at a bank at the foreign currencies department, which was presumed to be his source of his knowledge of foreign bank notes.

Police have now charged him with the appropriate charges.
