Car Scam Arrested In Payao Province

A 53 year-old man was arrested after he claimed to be a commander to have people trust him. He would go out and scam people by selling or promising cars that he does not even own.

PAYAO – September 15, 2013 [PDN]; At the Payao Police station a press conference was held regarding the arrest of 53 year-old Mr. Roongsak Huajaikaew. He was arrested after a court-arrest warrant was issued on the 25th of July. He was arrested for impersonating a commander as well as for scamming others. Several victims came to the press conference confirming that police caught the correct person.

One of the victims, who was a barber revealed that he had been scamming several other people including market merchants. He was said to have been claiming himself as a commander that was involved in sweeping drug cartels and dealers. He offered luxurious cars to the victims at very low prices, he claimed that the cars were seized from drug related raids and that he would be willing to sell at such low prices. The victims had fallen into his scam and paid about 50,000 THB each as a down price, some even lost 300,000 THB.

Victims of the reported scam are able to go to Payao Police station in order to with Police. Mr. Roongsak will now be charged for his reported allegations.
