Renewing Broken License Plate

Transportation Department announced renewing damaged license plate for free until 30th September.

BANGKOK- September 12, 2013 [PDN]; general director of Transportation Department revealed that the Department of transportation reports that the cars that have had license issues such as broken license plate could apply for a new one until the 30th of September 2013. If they apply after the valid period, 100 baht would be charged for each license plate.

For those that are purchasing a new license plate can show their vehicle registration and a copy of the identity card. For those that are cooperation, must have their certified legal cooperation details.

The car owners will receive their license within 15 days after request. When the owner comes to get their new license plate they must also bring the original receipt along with the damaged license plate to return to the registrar.

After the Department of Transportation announced the making of new license plate for broken licenses early this year, 134,905 renewed license plates have already been issued as of August 31, 2013.
