An unsuccessful theft occurred in the middle of the night at a pawnshop building. At the crime scene the windows were smashed, however the criminal was not able to enter the building due to iron doors and safety alarm protections.

PATTAYA – August 30, 2013 [PDN]; at 3.00am, Pol.Lt. Wonsuwan Thaviratpokin , received a report about a theft behind the pawnshop building located in Central Pattaya , Sukhumvit 63 (Branch 27) 36/49, before reaching Central Pattaya, Moo.9 Nong Prue , Banglamung, Chonburi,

The crime occurred a building, with four floors, which serves as a newly opened pawn shop, opening hours from 09.00-18.00pm. 4 CCTV and security iron doors to protect and secure the place had been installed around the building. Mr.Thiwanon Krietchomyit, 31 years old manager of this branch as well as security officials from SEACOM security Company waits for the police officials to investigate the crime scene. The criminals had used the wooden stairs from behind the building as a gateway to theft; the stair was installed during construction and had not been removed. The criminal used a large stone to smash the windows on the second floor. However, the hole was too small and the iron security door made for protection made it impossible to enter the building. Shortly, after that security alarm rang and the criminals escaped. Bloodstains were found at the crime scene it is suspected that while the criminal tried to smash the window he probably received a cut from the window glass. However, the management team has not yet installed a CCTV camera on the back side of the building where the crime was identified.

The branch managers and the police officers screened through the CCTV cameras to search for evidence and traces of the criminal. Unfortunately, the cameras did not capture any useful information.

Mr.Thiwanon the branch manager of this pawnshop claims the criminals chose this building because there was no security guard protection in front of the building. Therefore, the criminal used a wooden stairs to climb the second floor smashed a sliding door but was unable to enter due to the iron security doors. The manager claims that the second floor is where the criminal tried to enter and contains mortgages and assets of the customers. Shortly after the security alarm rang and the security company SEACOM that’s taking care of the pawnshop heard the alarm at 2:54 AM they immediately reported it to the police and further investigations are being done to catch the criminal. However, security guards have been hired to increase the protection and safety behind the building area.

The police suspect that this crime involves 1-2 criminals who tried to steal the property in the pawnshop however due to iron security doors as well as security alarms the criminals escaped and were not successful in their theft. The police suspect that they took to the car and escaped through the train Lane in the soi. Further investigation and evidences are being examined so that the criminals could be found.
