Claims To Be Abducted By Police!

Young photographer covered in handcuffs confessed to have been abducted by police, seeks help from local residents before reporting it to the police.

PATTAYA – August 29, 2013 [PDN]; at 1.30 am Pol.Col Supachai Phuikaewkham, Banglamung, Chonburi was informed of a suspect covered in handcuffs, and getting help from the local residents in Sukhumvit Soi 43 , Sukhumvit Road. Police are now investigating the case.

In the crime scene a man covered with handcuffs was found in in a wacky and shocked condition. The suspect Woraphong Mayur, age 32 years old, residing at 128 Moo 9 Tambon Mae Chan, Chiang Rai was found but after checking his criminal records, no history of crime had been found. He claimed that he is a photographer and has a studio in Pattaya city. Before the incident, he and four of his friends were sitting and drinking together at Khaomaikaew district, Banglamung province. Suddenly a group of people came in and started attacking by handcuffing him . Che attackers claimed that they were police. From then they covered his head with his shirt and dragged him into the car. In the car he was beaten and was told to take his money and gold ring and threatened him to give his ATM code which had 50,000 baht in it. After that he was left in front of a furniture shop near the golf center in Central Pattaya and the car took off. He tried to regain conscious and asked help from local residents in that area.

Mr.Chalermchai Thahai 44 yeads old, motorcycle taxi reported that he drove past where Mr.Woraphong was asking for help after dropping off passengers nearby. Mr.Woraphong told the motorcycle taxi that he would give him 2000 baht to go drop him at Khaomaikaew. That motorcycle taxi noticed that he was handcuffed and thought that he was running away from the police. Mr.Woraphong confessed that he had been abducted by the police. He was skeptical about the situation and therefore complained to the police about the incident.

After a preliminary investigation of Mr.Woraphong the police are still unsure about the statements he made and therefore has detained him so that further investigations can be done. After further inquiries it was found that in the area stated there has been no abduction or arrests but also Mr.Woraphong had no records of crime. Therefore the statement has been recorded as evidence and further enquiries are being done to find out if he police was involved in this.
