Police Seize Heroin Worth Over 426 Million THB

A clique consisting over 3 Taiwanese and 1 Thai national were arrested for illegally exporting heroin worth over 426 million THB.

BANGKOK – August 8,2013 [PDN]; Various Police chiefs from the Anti-Drug agency as well as the Immigration Bureau held a press conference regarding the arrest of a group consisting of 4 drug dealing men, a Thai national was amongst the suspects.

678 stacks or bars of heroin were seized from the group. The total weight of the found heroin was reported to be over 237 kilograms, which would have costed 426 million THB. Experts say if the drugs are exported to Australia or the United States, it’s market value would increase by over 20 times.

The seized heroin was reported to shipped or illegally exported to Hong Kong, where it will be further distributed. Mr. Panudet or the Thai national who was arrested confessed that he received the heroin from Chiang Rai province and that he was hired by a drug lord to pick-up and deliver the drugs.
Police will now try to further expand the case, in hopes to find the roots of the drugs.
