Minister of Energy confirms that a compensation will be issued to 117 people that were affected from the crude oil spill in Koh Samet.

THAILAND – August 8,2013 [PDN]; Mr. Pongsak Rattanapongpaisan, the Minister of Energy, has confirmed that affected Koh Samet residents will receive a compensation on August 10, following the disastrous oil spill in Koh Samet. Over 400 residents were reported to be affected, but the compensations will be paid in four different payments.

It was reported that the compensation fee will be at about 1000 THB, times ten for the time being.
