German Survives 9 Hours In Chumphon Sea

A German businessman was spotted in the sea in Chumphon province. He reportedly fell off a tour ferry and went missing for over 9 hours.

CHUMPHON – August 7,2013 [PDN]; Pak Nam Chumphon Police were informed by the Sai Chon Rescue team that a foreign tourist was found in the sea after he had fallen off a ferry during a tour. He was found 7 kilometers off the coast of Chumphon province.

The German was identified as 47 year-old Sacha, a German national. He said he had opened a business in Surathani province for over 10 years.

Mr. Sacha said that he was having a cigarette on the deck of the boat at 1 am, but when the suddenly shook, he lost his balance and fell overboard.

Police Lt. Colonel Wasuthorn Wiwarin, Deputy Chief of Pak Nam Police station said that he was found by rescue officers were able to find him at 10.00 am, he also complimented that Mr. Sacha was a very good swimmer, as not many people would be able to survive the strong tides of the Andaman ocean.
