Elder Englishman Looted by Two Men in Pattaya

Pattaya Police are looking for two suspects who had looted over 60,000 THB from a retired Englishman at his own house.

PATTAYA – July 26, 2013 [PDN]; Police were called up to the house of 67 year-old Mr. John Robert Cook, an English national. He called up the police after he was looted by 2 men at his house. He said that as he was on his way home, two men approached him and told him to open a safe that was locked up in his house. At first he refused to do so, but when they pulled a gun and pointed it at his forehead, he decided to follow their orders. The Englishman said that his cash money of over 50,000 THB was taken as well as his Samsung smartphone.

Investigation officers are now looking for CCTV footage from local marts and houses, in order to identify the culprits. Police presume that the suspects were familiar with Mr. Cook’s house as they knew that he had a safe where he’d store his possessions at in the house.

Would have thought it was an inside job as how to know about cash, valuables in his safe at home??

Have to be carefull out there as the Thais don't care how they get your baht these days, as long as they get it and some are more desperate or cunning then others!!

Well, the story a couple of days back was about the Iranian that was "pillaged" by ladyboys. Maybe same reporter. Probably waited years to use those two words in a story, and just couldn't wait any longer.

At least you can sort of justify "looted" because they "took the loot". Being "pillaged" is a different matter.

The next victim will undoubtedly be "plundered".
