A Russian man was arrested after working with a credit card faking gang, high-profile malls in Bangkok were amongst the Russian’s victims.

BANGKOK – July 10,2013 [PDN]; The arrest of the 51 year-old Russian man was announced in a press conference that was held at the Bangkok Metropolitan Police HQ. Police seized several of his possessions that included over 120 credit and ATM cards that were believed to have been used to buy items at high-profile malls in Bangkok. The Russian was reported to have been arrested at the Orchid Inn Hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 6. The arrest took place after a report came in saying that a foreigner was using fake credit cards to withdraw money and buy items at malls and shops.

It was known that the man had used fake cards that from outside of Thailand, the gang who faked the cards were believed to use a technique were they fetch credit card information from other people and pasted the information into card that wasn’t used anymore. They were then able to pay for items at malls and even withdraw cash money from ATMs.

The man was arrested and taken to further questioning and possible interrogation. He was initially charged for fraudulent activity, police will now try to look further into case and will try to find and arrest the rest of the gang that are believed to reside in Thailand.
