Where to change money

another quick (hopefully) question

 

i'm over in a week (landing 8th) and going straight to koh samet from swampy

 

now i need to change money at some point, should i:

 

- change it all at the airport

- try to change it on the way (if so where)

- change it at ban phe (is there a good place that's going to be open about 7-8 pm)

- change on the island (there are places in the village or the samed villa change but take 2%)

 

I'm sure someone will have some good advice, thanks in advance
