mobile internet for laptop

I have a condo which is near completion and when it is I will be spending approx 6 weeks per year in Pattaya. I wont be renting it out so to keep costs down I probably wont get broadband connected at the condo. Here in the uk you can buy a plug-in usb that picks up 3G which would be fine for checking emails ect. Is there a similar thing available in Pattaya or is Broadband so cheap that I might as well just get connected.

Also, Whats the best package I can get for cable tv. Would like a news channel (bbc if  Poss) movie and sport but again dont want to spend too much. Thanks

DTAC have some pretty good mobile data deals:

You can put there sim card into one of those 3g dongles, or if you have a smart phone, you can add one of those packages to your phone and use it as a wifi access point(tethering)

TV....or building provides sophon for free(well, not exactly free, it gets added to the strata fees), I don't know if this is common practice for condo building to do, and if its not then you would most probably have to get a monthly subscription  which isn't a good option if you are going to be here for only 6 weeks a year

Yes. As above pick up a 3g dongle and add a 3g sim card and a data plan and your set. Just be aware they call them 'air card's. Or as above again tether your smart phone.
