Robins Nest not the same!

What's went wrong with Robins Nest??..orded a MEGA mix grill 400baht but when it came it just looked like a small breakfast in other Restaurants!! nothing like the one i got from there over two years ago.. verdict- RIPP OFF!!

I can't speak to your experience as it isn't a place I have ever really frequented but it has changed ownership over that period.

If you want a good mixed grill go to the old Robin's Nest on Soi Buakhau near the market (forget the new name). On saturdays it's 169 baht and awesome.

Apparently, times are bad and times are changing. As mentioned earlier, it depends on the owner and often also cooks. Nowadays everyone is trying to earn as much as a customer goes away.

 

Myopia in trade policy in the conduct and service to customers from some owners will soon bring them to ruin.

sounds like you got the wrong dish,  when you complained to them, was it not resolved?

I am surprised to hear this as I know they owners really well and often stay here for months at a time.  If you speak with Boss Lee about this I am sure he will be so apologetic and rectify your injustice.

 

I know they have seen the departure of a chef not long ago, who although was a good cook, was Poison to the business... I was there not a fortnight ago and the meals were perfect as always... again, I say go and see Lee and if you like PM me offline and I will chat to him also, he is one of my closest friends.

 

As to the old Robins Nest, there are two on Soi B.. the one near the market is called Jolly's now and if the food is anything like it was when I ate there twice a month or so ago, then goodluck finding satisfaction.  I broke a tooth on the fries and I think I still have gristle in my teeth from the discount steak/ buffalo... the price is by far the cheapest I have found in a farang oriented restaurant but the meals are not fit for human consumption.

 

The other place is also on Soi B and is called 18 coins.. food not bad and price not bad too... my only bitch is that the open restaurant, which is not aircon and hot as hell, is exposed to the smokers on the balcony.  This coupled with the less than friendly and sparsely found staff and bitchy ladyboys, lost my business...

 

HTH mate and please go and chat to Boss Lee, he is a great bloke... the Sunday Buffet is hard to beat at 249 all you can eat with roasts galore and plenty of veggies and deserts...

I went for lunch , twice ,3 weeks ago and found the food and service first class..I have been

going to Robins Nest  for 3 years and have found the service and food ..better under the new owner.

I think the problem was with the previous chef, a while back  i went for a meal,the food was pretty poor, not good quality like all the other times i have been, my mate had a meal there about two weeks ago, and said it was very good.

yeh in all fairness, there was a girl there called porn, she was as dumb as they cum... she would say that and then get you a singha lol... she is not there anymore either.  again I would go see Lee, he is the only one who can sort it for ya and he wont have an issue other than the sorry for it happening.

 

he will be glad that you give him the opportunity to say sorry, he hates unsatisfied customers and really goes out of his way for everyone everytime.

I used to regularly stop in there for my morning coffee, the one on Soi Bukhao if indeed there are two.  I've eaten breakfast there a few times and had no complaints that I can recall.  Equally as good as the breakfast in so many resturants in the area like Billabong and Killkenny.....

 

Can't confess to having tried anything more from the menu but from what you explain there has been a change for sure..

You realize the owner has only 2 legs and 2 hands, he can not be everywhere at the same time.

 

Just because your rent a friend did not like the taste it does not make it bad.

 

I have customers with rent a friend, who do not like freshly made ice coffee and prefer cheap shit from the street. It does not mean coffee i sell taste bad

Got food poisioning from lettuce on chicken burger last

week. Perhaps using tap water to wash lettuce

but did not tell owner yet. Waitress all very good there.

Most people travelling to LOS are very aware of the fact that side salad IS washed in local tap water unless its stated otherwise on the menu......and even then be suspicious.

 

Some people could have a bad reaction to local water but most, like me, just spend 24hrs not been able to go far from the nearest toilet!

 

Now eating salad in India....that's a different ball game!

well said... but take it from me, the water there is bought in on a daily basis by the man with the shitty ute but great sense of humour.  If the cook did not use it then its probably laziness and not due to process in place.  I would see Boss Lee.... unless he knows, he cannot fix the issue..

400 baht is a lot for a single meal!  the big breakfast there is 159 baht.. did you order anything else with that or maybe some extras?  the most expensive thing on the menu is only 400 baht and its steak!  not doubting you were charged 400 baht, just that there is no breakfast on the menu for that price... maybe you paid someone elses bin too lol

I am confused and it does not take much, the Robins nest I have used is in Soi Diana not far from Areca Lodge,the food has always seemed ok and the "all you can eat Sunday buffet" was great. Has this all changed?
