I am spending 2 months (early retirement - yee haa!) in quiet (cul de sac) soi just off Bhukow, which most of you will know. I have been over most of Thailand lots od times. However, staying for a long time in Pattaya (or anywhere in Thailand) will be new to me.

I am interested in trying out different areas. I have discovered elsewhere on this forum that the Darkside doesn't sound appealing. I have wandered around Naklua lots of times and I think it's quite pretty and it's easy to get into the centre. However, I looked at some serviced apartments and there does seem to be a lot of Russians, in fact, one long soi (next to temple on left) I went down, the signs were in Thai and Russian with very few in English. I'm happy to share space with Germans/ Nordics/ others, but Russians are just too rude, arrogant aggressive and unpleasant. I know Naklua used to known for being mostly German, but that appears to have changed, has it? Any observations/ comments, guys?

Naklua is mainly german but the Russians are marching in .

Nice place just outside the hassle of Beachroad and Walking Street .

 

I have a condo for rent out there (not much Russians in the building :WinkGrin1:) , maybe you're interested .

Last month a jet ski careened up onto Pattaya beach and struck a..............Russian.No matter where the jet ski had crashed I would have been shocked had it NOT hit a.................Russian.It is getting beyond ridiculous.

They really have no idea what polite means - no concept of the idea - but as already said - there are many comments elsewhere - so I'll move on!

I think the Russians are Ok on the whole...different culture..direct people...say what the fuck they think...and their sheila are diffently alright...I like the long noses. See a lot of young Russians on waling with their tall bottles of Chang. they are entitled to their holidays also. austin powers: Only two things I can't stand " racially intolerant people  and the DUTCH"

what can i expect to pay, rent wise, in naklua for a 6 to 12 month period with possible extensions if i fall in love with the area? it will be just for me, until i find a really cute local non working girlfriend...

Till up to 2 years ago it was very easy to rent out the condo for 10k+ a month . Since 2015 it is hard to get customers . It's rented out now LT for 5k a month to the Thai girlfriend of a BM . 

Must be pretty easy to find a nice apartment for between 5 and 10k a month ATM in Naklua .
