It has a very large and loyal following. If you like to swim for exercise the main pool is ideal for that purpose.

IMPO, the rooms are nothing special, but they have in room electronic safes, room service, etc.

This is info I once typed on another forum - you may find it useful

Here are some room and pool shots of my time at the excellent Sabai Resort.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/67802745@N00/

This is not the older Sabai Lodge in Soi 2 - but a brand new complex, adjacent to the Big C shopping mall.

It's in an excellent location - the security is FIRST CLASS - one night this really saved my bacon - the complex is huge, extending backwards a long way.

http://www.agoda.com/asia/thailand/pattaya/sabai_resort.html

Scan your eye to the lower half of the page - Sabai Resort prices.

I viewed all the room types available and all offer excellent accomodation. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean - one night they even spayed the whole complex with mosquito repellant and huge clouds of white powder, hung in the air, making me choke - the cleaners and staff are very friendly and the guards will often escort you to your door at night. Fantastic reception area.

During low season all prices are up for bartering - I stayed at the Paradise Pool - Deluxe Ruen Thai, advertised rate 2850 a night, but I got it for 2000. A guy I made friends with for a week, managed 1850, but that was rock bottom and the reception lady had to seek authorisation from the manager. I do not begrudge paying 2000 baht, as all the staff must be paid for and I regulary observed the paved areas getting swept, during windy days etc:

If you have the dosh, stay at the Sabai Resort - if on a budget, choose the 700 a night, low season price at the Sabai Inn -soi 2. In my opinion, you will not regret paying 1300-2000 at Sabai Resort and the girls love it

All rooms have a decent safe - with a 6 digit code - be sure to press the buttons reasonably slowly, or it might seize up on a temporary basis, annoying if about to rush out - safes are nicely tucked away inside the wardrobes.

Can't give you exact dimensions - I suspect it may not be possible to fit laptop in safe but certainly was big enough for me - I stuffed in a shedload of personal papers, all elecrical equipment, adapters, camera, etc: I really feel it's big enough for anyone, unless you have a laptop.

Downside might be the small fridge, which all the Sabai hotels have - just take out the mini bar and place the items to the side of the fridge - then place your own booze and fruit inside - the tall, large fridges, one sees in other places are better though - depends on how important this aspect is.

The whole complex is huge - the entrance to lobby/reception is set back a good 150 yards from the street (second rd) with security guards around - the lobby itself is very open, so you would not attract that much attention - I must tell you I never felt a sense of disaproval whenever I had a lady back and the reception often helped me with ages of young ladys and even told me that a woman was actually a ladyboy banghead.gif - so I paid it off 1000 baht and ran - He He grin2.gif - I do not anticipate anyone having any problems with hotel staff, even if you took back several ladies a day from Soi 6 - as long as your good guest and say good morning.......that is all they care about.

Regarding a side entrance - you must appreciate the hotel grounds/rooms go back a LONG way and depending on what type of room you have, you may be near the front of the complex OR a good few minutes walk if choosing accomodation towards the back - yes there is a side entrance, but it's not like staying in a pub - the side entrance is opposite the Big C, in the road which runs of second rd - now from second rd, it's about 3 mins walk to the entrance which is also watched by security who sit in a booth, always polite and helpful - so whether or not it's convienent to use this entrance, depends on where you are approaching from - if in the Big C, then come out of the correct Big C door and its 30 secs to the side entrance and bingo, your in the hotel grounds - get off the baht bus on second rd and its far less hassle to just go through the front.

The main thing is the place is huge, brand new - indeed an area at the back will not open until the New Year and it looks stunning - with various types of rooms to choose from, all different sizes - place is kept spotless and the Big C is only 1 min away, fantastic for the supermarket, cinema etc.....

If you ever get any hassle the security WILL sort it out for you no problem.

I have stayed at the Sabi Resort many times. Just back from Pattaya, had to stay at the Sabi Lodge as the Sabi Resort was full.

:angry2: Great place, great location and the staff are very friendly. I would recommend Sabi Resort to anyone.

Paid 1350 Baht for a deluxe B, my mate, who booked later couldn't get lower than 1650 a night.

I found the rooms to be large and very clean. Excellent location. (I like the North area)

Mind you, if you go to bed late, as most do, it can be noisy in the morning.

They start driving their cleaning carts up and down the brick hallway from 9 AM. If you decide to stay there,

book a Superior or one of the Garden View Rooms. (the carts have no access there).

If you tuck in early, and get up and 9AM, no need to avoid Deluxe A or B. Like the place mak mak

Totally agree, just returned and apart from the fact i was in a room facing the cleaners office and was regularly woken at 7 by the constant chatter it was fine!! moved to a room further along for last few nights and it was fine.. overall a very good hotel and would certainly re book on my next visit..

I stayed there again in January. It was my 6th stay thee and will be staying there on my return in September. It is a great location next to big C with friendly staff 3 pools and nice clean rooms with safe and minibar. Yes they are girl friendly. I have often come back late at night with my TG and 3 or 4 of her friends for some late night drinks in the room or by the pool with no hassle. We even bring our own beer from 7-eleven and there is no problem.

I would recommend it anyway :IdHitIt2:
