Captain injured as Fire takes hold of Pleasure Boat at the Bali Hai Port.

 

In the early hours of Monday Morning, a fire broke out in the engine room of a boat at the Bali Hai Port at the South end of Pattaya Beach. The pleasure boat which takes tourists on fishing trips had recently returned from a daytrip when the fire broke out. The Captain of the vessel, Khun Sartit aged 48 sustained minor burns as he attempted to put out the fire. No one else was injured in the fire which caused an estimated 50,000 Baht in damage. Police were called in to investigate the fire and theorize that the engine had not been serviced for some time. Police will take no further action and will hand the case over to the local government authorities who may wish to review the fishing license which accompanies this particular vessel.
