Man Crashes into Electric Post

Pattaya Police was notified that a car crash accident had occurred on South Pattaya Road in the afternoon of 1st December.

At the scene, officers found a Nissan Sunny car smashed into an electric post, which had collapsed onto the car bonnet. The driver, Mr. Veera Makote, aged 46 was waiting at the road side for the officers. It took seconds for the police to realize that the man had been drinking heavily. He gave a statement to the officers that he was driving home to Nong Nooch from a drinking binge with his friends in Pattaya. As he was driving very fast he nearly hit an oncoming vehicle and swerved and hit the post, resulting in the crash. He was taken back to the station for a breathalyzer test and later was bailed by his family for 20,000 baht but will be charged for damaging government property and driving under the influence of drink
