First Time to Pattaya need hotel help please

I have been researching the hotels in pattaya but to be honest for someone who has never been I am a little overwhelmed. I guess the thing to start with would be what I need from a hotel; in room safe, guest friendly, TV, wifi, soft bed (weird but I do not like hard beds), safe and CLEAN (I am a bit of a clean freak). I am looking to spend around 1500/night for ten nights, more if the place is really worth it. I am a night owl get up around 3-4pm go to bed around 4-5am. Any suggestions please let me know, also if anyone will be there inbetween nov 8th-18th who knows pattaya and is willing to give a new soul a tour it would be gratefully appreciated. THANKS

LK renaissance, on soi Diana Inn, offer actually the room at 1500 bahts, full rates is 2500, and next nonths maybe 1750, great quality and good locations, look at www.lkpattayahotel.com for reservation and for photos. In front of the LK Areca Lodge offer rooms about 1200-1300 bahts. All hotels on soi 13 are about 1200-1300 Bahts, Dynasty inn, sandy Spring, Inn House.

They have 7 room guest house.They are guest friendly. No additional room charge for 'overnight friend' and prices start at only 600 baht per day.Some rooms they have balcony and separate sitting area.Starting at 600 bht per day or 12 000 bht per months.The guest house has been completely refurbished to European standard.

All rooms are fully air-conditioned and all with on suite bathroom hot & cold water and equipped with colour T.V., DVD players ,WI FI Intenet and all rooms have refridgerators.

During Low Season prices are negotiable.

There are a lot of good choices for 1500 baht in Pattaya.

I'm sure the suggestions already posted give you a lot of good choices.

My two cents follow...

 

I just returned from Pattaya at the end of September and I stayed at the Dynasty Inn on Soi 13.

I would recommend that hotel, I think it meets all your requirements.

But you can find many hotels that meet your requirements at 1500 baht / night.

 

There are several good hotels on Soi 13 and that soi is a very good location IMHO.

Not many nightlife venues on Soi 13 itself so it is quiet ..

... but close to Soi Diana/soi LK Metro and Soi Post Office

and between Beach Road and 2nd Road so easy access to Baht bus to go to Walking Street or Soi 6 etc.

 

At your price point I would think about location as well as your other considerations

since you will have many good choices.

I had not been to Pattay since 2000 and looking at the map I was thinking

"everything is close, I'll walk almost everywhere", WRONG!!!

For me anyhow it is just too hot to walk very much.

Also, as far as locations in the midst of the action, I have a 2nd opinion.

 

If you have any concern about last night's tilac seeing you with tonight's

tilac, or concern about the ability to walk by a former tilac's bar without

feeling the staring eyes burning into you, you should consider a location

away from the action.

I have a fairly thick skin and try to keep it very light and breezy with the

TGs but still I sometimes feel uncomfortable passing last night's Tilac with

just a wave and a sawatdi krap.

Not a big deal for everyone but worth considering.

 

Check out the FLB forum, they have a weekly bar crawl where you can meet

some other guys and find out about some good places to go.

 

Anyway, I'm sure you will have fun in Pattaya wherever you decide to stay.

Thanks for the advise, after reaeding all over the board, I have come to decided that I am going to stay in probally 2 hotels while in Pattaya. One is going to be the Galaxy Suites (walking street), but the second I am still working on, I wanted to be away from Walking Street more towards the Soi 6 part. Different views and bars to visit without having to worry about taking the baht bus. ANY IDEAS anyone...? THANKS

 

ALso has anyone staying in Anna Jet...? Read a few good reviews, not from here though. THANKS AGAIN

I booked a room at the Sabai new wing (part of Sabai Lodge and Sabai resort) the rooms seem to be very nice and are from what Im told the bed I cant say most hotel s I stayed at in Pattaya are firm(some too firm) the Sabai Lodge is on Soi 2 which is just a 30 cent taxi ride to Walking Street Theres action everywhere you look in Pattaya Good Luck

Tex...did you ever figure out the second hotel? I am going to be planning a trip soon...and like you its going to be my first time. It is overwhelming for a first timer, but it seems as though you have the same kinda trip in mind. Half party...half relaxation/party.

I'm still researching hotel options. You are correct that I am looking for half partying and half relaxing time. I hate noisy environments - so I would like it away from bars and heavy traffic streets. Also, I am hoping to save on accommodation costs so that I can spend more on the mongering and tourist activities. So hopefully something cheap (800-1000 bht/night in low season for double occupancy) even if it means excluding some luxuries like a swimming pool, in-house restaurant or refrigerator bar (but rooms and hallways must be clean - no bugs or cum stains).

 

Galaxy suites seems to fit a lot of the profile except for the fact that it is right above heavens agogo. So the noise factor would rule it out for me.
