I have a simple Nokia phone, and I would like to use it in thailand for talks $ messegess only (no 3g or data).

 

so I need a sim card + to charge it in credit, right ?

 

so, how much it gonna cost me - and where is the best to charge it, in the airport or in the 7/11 ?

You can go to tuk.com (google it to find location) and many mobile phone booths there that will set you up with a new sim and some credit. Probably about 200 baht to get it set up with a bit of credit on it, then can top up at seven-eleven later on when you need to.Not sure you can buy the SIM and do the initial setup at seven-eleven, maybe some other posters might know

Hi,

I just picked up a free sim at the airport as you are departing for a taxi, from the TRUE mobile booth. You can reload it with credit at any 7/11 and rates started as low as 1.5 baht per min to Australian land lines.

It comes with instructions and charges for calling all other countries and I found reception to be quite reliable in Patts.

All of the carriers have booths on the arrivals level at the airport. Failing that 7elevens has SIM cards and can sell you some credit as well.
