Iphone4 - Hide caller id while in thailand

Last time in pattaya I tried to change my "show my caller id" to off so my regular girl in Phuket didn't know I was in thailand when I rang her. It wouldn't let me do it - the caller id stayed on. I use true move.

 

Any suggestions so that the call comes up blocked / private number?

You could try getting skype and put in a non Thailand caller id and then make your calls via Skype. This works for me. For my non Thailand number I use a Google Voice number which will accept texts back. Google will also forward calls, but I think only in the USA.

On my 3GS its;

Settings > Phone > Show My Caller ID > Off

Maybe its similar on 4. Hope this helps.

The GSM feature code for hiding caller ID:

#31#[phone number]

Be aware that a carrier can choose to disable feature codes.
