Can someone tell me the rates to call the USA with a 1-2-call sim card?

Also, what is this 001,002,005 etc. business?

(Googled for 1/2 hour and was fruitless!!)

Don't know the rates for 1-2-call as I always use Skype to call back to the US at 2 or 3 cents a minute. The 001 is the International dialing prefix code you dial to US from an International landline, it's +1 with a cell phone. You might want to look into International calling cards to save you some money using your cell phone to call back home as you will not be happy with the rates you get from the phone company. agree with the above, the international phone cards are a lot cheaper, granted not as convenient.

Thanks for the help. I actually found a happy sim before I got a reply and it's rather cheap. I called the US for 15 min at under $2! Tip: dialing + is more expensive (40ish baht per minute). Dialing 009+country code+number is something like 5 baht!

From my experience, dialling several countries from 1 2 call has consistently worked out at 30B a minute. I didn't know that dialing 009 is cheaper, I'll give that a go next trip! Cheers.
