Well, the current inflation rate in the UK is 3.1 percent.

 

Lower than most of the last twenty years.

 

Whereas unemployment has hovered around 8% for nearly four years now.

 

 

I think any Bank of England Governor worth his salt would be focusing on fighting the latter rather than the former in the current circumstances.
