hotel de la mer

Thinking of having a change of hotels and have been looking at hotel de la Mer on Walking Street, has anyone stayed there or been in for a look at their rooms? i have looked at their website and everything looks good but pictures can be deciving. Also i have tried to e-mail them on the addresses given on the website but no replies has anyone got any contact details, e-mail preferably as i can never understand them on the phone.

Too late, the hotel de la Mer has closed and been demolished. I am not sure of the exact date when it happened, but it is gone...

you are lucky that they are closed cos' you would have made a big mistake by booking a room there. Stayed there once a year ago, checked out the next day, was a shit hole, the pics on the site were part of the scam and had nothing to do with what the rooms actually were... No wonder they had to close...

I have to agree with cham, stayed there 3 days and it did not have anything to do with the website.

FYI - The problem with the hotel was, from what I heard, that it was an investment by rich parents for their kids. The kids lost interest after a year or so the place went to pot. As I understand it, the place was for sale for a 1.5 years or so before they found a buyer. Do not take this as gospel, just the things I heard.
