Chicago - TV watchers may want to hit the mute button for a momen tof silence. The man who invented the remote control has died at the age of 96, the Chicago Sun Times reported Tuesday.

Remember having a CORDED remote control back in the ol' days. Our family were 'early adopters' of that new fandangled technology.

I guess he also contributed significantly to world obesity. I thank him everytime I can mute the commercials though.
