A daughter planned to take to her siblings’ inheritance from their 81-years-old mother by changing the name in the deed in 2002.

CHONBURI – May 16, 2012 [PDN]; Mrs.Boonplook Lamsamang a 81-years-old woman was left to live alone by her children because they had moved out to live with their own families. She owns 6.400 square meters of land, to be equally divided by her three children. But the third daughter, Mrs.Prapai Khaoyangyuen and Mr. Paisal Khaoyangyuen – her daughter’s husband, had secretly changed the name in her mother’s deed in 2002.

The plan was made when Mrs.Boonplook, the old lady was ill in 2002, Mrs.Prapai, her daughter lied that the money for the medical care and the drugs was not enough, and told her to sign on a blank sheet of paper. In order to borrow money.

The old mother did not know that she was signing over her land but thought it was to pay for the hospital bills.

After she recovered, she asked for the deed every time she met Mrs.Prapai, but she always avoided to answer this question for more than 10 years. Mrs.Boonplook then said that she will hang herself if her daughter would not give it to her.

Mrs.Prapai said that if she wanted to see it, she had to be ready because she had already changed the name on the land deed to be her name as the land owner. And said that if her mother wanted it back, she would have to sue her in court.

The rest of her siblings, Mrs Chompoo Jitsaichol, Mrs.Sompit Pulsap, and Senior Police Sergant Major Supap Lamsamang, begged Mrs.Prapai to return the deed to their mother to be divided equally among the others. But Mrs. Prapai would not comply and said that if they wanted it back, they would have to sue her in court, so the rest of the siblings had to bring their mother to the Chonburi court and to sue Mrs. Prapai.

At first, the court stated that Mrs.Prapai has legal rights to all the land because it was signed and transferred for more than 10 years ago. It made the old lady sad because she wanted the land to be equally divided between her children.
