Thinking pf booking a trip on vietnam air on 28/9/ to 30/10 £424 quoted price has anyone travelled with them and what was your opinion of them

I flew with VN Air a lot when I lived in Vietnam. They have older aircraft with fewer amenities, but the service was always very good and the food was always pretty decent too. I always flew domestically with them, so maybe they have better equipped aircraft for int'l flights.

Where do you change HCM City or Hanoi?

 

I've flown a couple of times domestically with them. The aircraft were a little dated even for SE Asia (and you would definitely notice the difference to say, Emirates or Etihad), with limited in-flight entertainment. The food was OK and hostesses were attentive. I don't think that you can go wrong at that price.

 

If there is a long wait between flights, Saigon / HCM City is worth a day or two stay, mongering or otherwise.

Vietnam Airlines from 24APR12 to 29JUN12 and from 11SEP12 to 27OCT12 is adjusting operation to London Gatwick. During this period, the airline will operate with a technical stop in both direction in either Frankfurt or Paris CDG.
