Amari Orchid Guest Friendly?

Afternoon Guys.

 

A friend of mine and myself are off to Patts for our first taste of Thailand on the 6th April. We seem to have a great deal for two weeks at the Amari Orchid, but just need to know if its guest friendly or not. Have been hunting the forum for a guest friendly list as im sure one used to exist.

 

So if anyone could shed any light would be much appreciated.

Pattayaone.com says they charge a joiner fee of 1,000 Baht.

Drop them an email and ask for clarification.

I stayed there in 2004, someone advised me to always book a double room in a high end hotel ( they're nearly always the same price ) and joiner fees will not apply. On the booking form I just put TBA for the second guests name. Worked for me, but, things change. Worth a shot anyway. Wasn't even a problem when one of my TBA's had to be removed by security !

I stayed there my last trip for a just a couple of days as a "special treat" to myself...and can offer this:

 

1) Book a "double" as I did, NO FEE charged (but, i only brought in one girl for my entire stay...my gf at the time).

 

2) Be sure to book a "suite" IN THE TOWER...the views are amazing and the rooms are spectacular! The pool area is also cool.

Stayed at the Amari Orchid Tower last September.Can confirmed first guest once registered is allowed to stay overnight at anytime but other guest will be charged 1000 bath.So the hotel is not guest friendly

Get your GIK to check in with you! If you're going for quantity looks best to stay elsewhere.....

I had visits from girls in the Ocean Tower last year with no additional charge. But I am a frequent guest which may help.

Stayed there Ocean Tower not guest friendly at all will get details from all guest even if u say it your girlfriend save your time there are plenty of hotels in patts.

Stayed there in May and no problem in the ocean tower walked in from the pool area never spoken to walked in from the main entrance just get a good morning. Yes good morning I like to stay out late

Stayed there in June and got charged 1000 THB for guests. Tried walking in from pool area only to get intercepted by security in lift and escorted to reception to register guest.

 

Escorted girl down in morning only to have to hang around in reception waiting for security to come and hand ID card back. Why reception cannot handle that I don't know....

 

Will never stay there again.

I've stayed at this hotel several times, bought plenty of girls back and have never paid a joiners fee, once I checked the first girl in and they never seemed to notice I was bringing back different girls after that, last couple of visits I have smuggled girls in via the pool, got collared a couple of times by security, gave him 100 baht and that was that.

 

This is a major downside at what is a really nice hotel, at 6,000 baht a night it's taking the piss to demand another 1,000 on top, especially when you've booked the room for 2 people.

I've just booked the Amari Ocean for early sept at a crazy rate of £47 per night, so if they do charge me 1000 bht it still makes it a great deal for the quality of the hotel

I emailed the hotel last week and got a similar reply to the one in post #6 above.

 

If you've booked the room for 2 people then the first girl you take back is free, but must be registered. If you take different girls back then it's 1000 baht a night.

 

I saw a very good rate as well but decided not to book because of this. You can often get the Marriott for about 1000 baht a night more than the Amari so why not just book there?

Also as I seem to take a girl for 2 /3 nights at a time I think I will be careful with my selection for the 1st girl, but in the scheme of things its not a great deal
