Search for the perfect Mango smoothie with yoghurt

Featured Replies

Previous years would drive to View Ang House Café , when fancied a very good mango yogurt, but this year probably someone else is making the smoothies now, as the taste is less than previous years,

So I'm looking for another place that make a EVERY GOOD (perfect?) "Mango smoothie with yoghurt".

View Ang House Café:

If size doesn't matter, why aren't there any four inch dildos ?

Lets update this topic for completion.

Never found a place that made a perfect "Mango smoothie with yoghurt" during my holiday off 2025 , best I could find was a "Mango smoothie" with no sugar at buddha hill (would rate it a 7), small single shop at the parking space, with only room for a small single girl working inside, so switched too buying mango at the market, and cutting them in my room.

I make my own. I buy a yoghurt that is able to reproduce (I will post the brand tomorrow), available at the supermarket on Patt Klang and at Friendship at Patt Tai. READ TOP PLASTIC JAR ABOUT 58 BAHT.
I get 2 ripe Mangos and about five fat ripe bananas (Kluay Nam Wah). I peel and slice the Mango, add a good handfull of shredded ginger  (King Soi), a heaped teaspoon of cinnamon powder, a heaped teaspoon of curcumin  (turmeric) and a quarter teaspoon of ground pepper. ADD THE BANANAS. add the yoghurt Then I use a stick blender (Other blender OK) and blend it .
The yoghurt needs to be quite sour and alive, the type you can reproduce from the original. No sweet yoghurt will do.
I make enough for 5 day breakfast, soak my Muesli in it for 30 minutes. I eat it everyday last 8 years. Sometimes add ¼ teaspoon ground cloves.

In Bangkok, you can find a chain called "Yenly Yours" in most of the major malls. It calls itself a Mango Cafe and all the items on their menu are mango based including a mango yoghurt smoothie. The mango is always perfect and they chuck in a bunch of cubes into all the drinks they do too. It's a bit expensive, but my go to quick refreshment stop whenever I am shopping.

Wow.. this recipe sounds pretty amazing based on the ingredients - can you clarify the following for me before I try?

A handful of shredded ginger sounds like a lot - can you confirm the amount you're using please ?

It seems to me that the bulk of the mix is basically fruit pulp and the ginger - this would make a rather thick concoction - is it easy to consume?

TIA. 👍

I shall weigh the ginger I use next time I make it and report back.  Yes it is a lot of fruit pulp, but mixed with a good amount of yoghurt, too. If you want to drink it, you can mix in some milk. I instead mix it with two tablespoons of Muesli, and let it sit for half an hour before eating. I use the  Aro brand from Makro, best to use a Muesli with no or little added sugar. Avoid toasted muesli, loaded with sugar. Between the NamWah bananas and th ripe mangos, sweet enough. The ginger and the spices counteract the fruit sugar.

Aah.. okay. I'll try it with a splash of low fat milk... I hope it will be more to my liking especially mixed in with muesli. I like how you've reduced the sugar content. I'll assume that your preferred yogurt is low in sugar (if not sugar free)

Thanks for the extra info.  Stay healthy. 👍👍👍

I just made a new batch, Bout 1.7 titres, which will last me for five breakfasts. I measured the weight of the shredded ginger, 60 grammes. Two medium sized ripe mangoes, five ripe NamWa bananas, and half aripe avocado, one heaped tsp ground cinnamon., one tsp curcumin. ¼ tsp ground black pepper.

enjoy!

For me, the best Mango smoothie with yogurt is an Indian Restaurant - it's called 'Mango Lassi'. The choice is two versions - sweet or salty.

At home I prefer the greek yogurt, closer to the 10% MF over the 3.5%, you gonna do it, do it right I say!

@GSpot11 You actually make a great point. A proper Mango Lassi from a good Indian restaurant is hard to beat when it comes to that perfect mango and yogurt balance. They usually get the thickness and the sourness of the yogurt just right.

There are plenty of Indian spots around Central Pattaya and the Soi Buakhao area. Does anyone have a favorite Indian restaurant in town that serves a standout Mango Lassi? Might be a good alternative for @Fr_loper to try out!
