Current Visa-on-Entry Situation (March/April 2025)

Anyone know what’s currently up with the visa-on-entry? I got 60 days the last couple times I was there, but I heard it’s been reduced, or is gonna be reduced, to 30 days. I’m planning on being in Pattaya for almost 60 days but could book a flight to Phnom Phen or Bali (or somewhere), if necessary. I’m wondering what I should say at Immigration if/when asked how long I plan to stay…. If anyone who has arrived in Thailand very recently could offer some input, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Nothing's been confirmed yet, and when it does it'll probably takes months to be implemented.

It also depends which country you're coming from, so best to check your home countries Government website.

There is no visa-on-entry.

There is a visa on arrival for select countries.

The 30day / 60day discussion has been around the visa exemption scheme, which is how many western tourists enter the kingdom.  It’s not a visa, but permission to enter without a visa for the stated number of days.  Currently set at 60 days; no one really knows if and when it will actually revert back to 30 days.

It will be interesting to see if the recent efforts to restore confidence that Bangkok (and Thailand) is safe after the recent earthquake will slow movement on any decision(s) in reverting the visa-free stays from 60 days to 30 days.

I'm scheduled to arrive in 3 weeks, right before the electronic TM6 is scheduled to start. I'm ready for a nice long holiday.
