Car owners - what happens if it floods?

I saw there was flooding in Patts last week https://www.pattayamail.com/news/severe-storm-hits-pattaya-causes-flash-flooding-and-heavy-damage-470817

What happens to your car if it floods?  Obviously if you're parked in a high rise you're OK, but what about if you're living in a normal house or you have ground level street parking?  The news article says the water got up to 80cm in some areas - won't your car be irreparably damaged by sitting in filthy water?

Yes..then it is up to you and your insurance company (which in some cases won't pay out because it's an act of god..ie: natural disaster)...

Most streets in Pattaya were built on an angle to allow for runoff, it only floods in a few places.

Exactly..thats why the laugh. You should get out and about after heavy storms/rains.

Did you read the OP, or maybe english is not your native language. It has nothing to do with driving around hitting the big puddles, he asked about parked cars at a house.

I'm done.

Really this does depend on how one defines a few. Because it's not a few.

Exactly (once again). Because there are many many more places that flood (not just a few, as you wrongfully post about), so yes parked cars at some houses or common parking buildings are vulnerable (which is what the OP asked about). Thanks for asking about my english, which thankfully I do find adequate, but possibly your reading ability is not up to scratch.

The Thai media report the trend for Thai preference for EV's has taken a downturn as Insurance companies will not insure them for replacement batteries due to floods. 🤔

You're here now where you should have been all along.
