He is screwed as only he could have filed the application to leave and his client clearly said he was asked to pay a bribe of 1M baht. He now claims the bribe is indeed his fee. He would not dare implicate anyone. 

It will be interesting to see if the Crown prosecution objected to the application and if the judge overruled the prosecution.

As it was in cash, it will be hard to follow a trail.
