From everything I've read regarding the Penthouse hotel on Walking Street, sounds pretty fun. I'm a newbie. Any advice?

its not actually in boys town it is opposite the entrance to boyz town.. even though "pattayaland soi 2" has more  gay a gogo's now   there are still  straight  bars etc like the Classroom a gogo , nongs bar etc and places to eat . the penthouse it self has a gogo which is a mixture of girls and lady boys. 

 

its on a corner so you can walk through to pattayaland soi 1 aka soi 13/3 or just down pattayaland soi 2..... no need to go near boyz town. Boyz town is an L shaped road that runs off Pattayaland soi 2 aka Soi 13/4

it is worth a few nights or even get a few girls and hire a fun suite for a night.  definitely would put it on my pattaya todo list  its an experience in itself. people tend to love it or hate it. 

 

I would not check in there but while your there pop in ask to see the rooms ... they are mental no where else like it. 

 

personally had some hell of a parties in there .. me and a few mates hired a suite , loads of girls, bottles of  drinks and will leave the rest to your imagination. wasn't long before it was full on  rock n rolla. 

 

mirrors on the ceiling , champagne on ice  :-)  you may well feel you have been through a hotel california experience if you give it a go lol

if it your first time soi 7 to 13 would be a good place to base yourself  10 to 13 been the quieter sois  and easy walking distance to everywhere ......Soi 7 and 8 have lots of bars. any of those area;s are good to get you started.

 

what is your budget ? have you been to pattaya before ...you coming solo ?  let me know and I will recommend some places for you

I've actually stayed also.. not bad for all the fun activities - sex swing, poll w/stage, and jacuzzi bath which the ladies seem to enjoy.. however, one i had really didn't get to hot (water temp, that is.. lol) was nice having the agogo downstairs but wasn't very full of ladies while there, very nice that its just down street from Walking Street.  Cost wasn't bad, well worth a try for a night or two before heading out to check out different place to stay.

Seriously though, are you sure you want to stay on Walking Street?

I'm guessing you wouldn't if you'd been to Pattaya a few times.

Stay elsewhere.

It depends on what floats your boat... are you travelling solo or group of you going. how old you are... are you party animals or you prefer the quieter holiday

 

SO many variables.    Pattaya has got everything great girls , great hotels , great islands near by , great restaurants.  most desires can be fulfilled.

Do you suggest any hotel like the Penthouse vibe, minus all the ladyboys hanging about? Close to the action preferred. How much baht would cover a good day of sex and drinks with the sexy ladys? From looking at a few pictures i think it would be a good laugh for one night (as T-T-T mentioned above) having a party with a few birds when you're hammered....but i wouldn't stay there. Looks like it's not particularly well put together.

 

A bit like how a nightclub looks in the daylight......it's fine in the dark when you're full of piss, but looks like a bag of shit otherwise.

I have done a ST there once, it was fun, but i can't Imagine staying there for weeks . With all the kitsch :-)

About Boyztown and ladyboy bars being in the area, who's bothered about that might consider Eastern Europe as a holiday destination. Maybe they will feel more comfortable over there.

I stay in this hotel on my first trip.  The location is great.  It's not really in boyztown and it's easy to get to Walking Street or catch a baht bus on Second Road to go up to Soi 6.  There are some decent late night eats when you hit the Second Road side, too.

 

I didn't encounter any roaches, but everything just felt very worn.  Like rusted out screws on the power outlets, fixtures that were loose, it all just felt very badly maintained.  Not to mention I was in a Jacuzzi suite and there was barely any space to unpack my clothes because there was no dresser.  There was no shower in the bathroom, so I had to take my showers in the Jacuzzi.  It was annoying.  During the middle of my trip, I got sick and was stuck in bed for 2 days.  Of course this was the time the ancient AC decided to die.  You can't cover up old and worn out with just bright colored kitsch.

 

The worst thing is just how much they go out of their way to nickle and dime you.  All that crap they leave around the room and then charge you for so you have to tell every girl you take back to your room not to touch any of it.  Having to tell girls to not touch anything because you don't want to pay for it is a mood killer.  They filled the small fridge with their expensive drinks so you can't fit any drinks of your own in there.  I asked them to clear the drinks out of the fridge because I wasn't going to drink any of them and they charged me 1 or 2 thousand baht.

 

There was also something really shady about the place, too.  On my first trip, I went to open up an account at the K-Bank at The Avenue(back when it was easier to do).  All you needed was your passport and an address so I grabbed one of their business cards and went down to the bank.  The lady at the bank said the business card didn't have an address on it.  WTF?  So OK, just call the hotel and have them tell you their address.  They called the hotel and they refused to give them the address over the phone.  I had to walk from The Avenue back The Penthouse to pick up a piece of paper they had written it down on and then walk back to The Avenue to give it to the bank.  Why did they go to so much trouble to avoid telling people their address?  It struck me as really suspicious.

 

I only took a couple of girls back to the hotel and one of them made a face when she saw which hotel we were going to.  I guess she had some sort of bad experience with them in the past.

 

Hey, maybe it's gotten better since I was there a few years ago.  But I would definitely recommend staying somewhere else.

My stay was purely to enjoy the experience of this kinky place with all types of flavours of rooms. Had porn on TV 24hrs, and got to do many stunts while banging. Still, its true that the place is run down a bit and there are roaches everywhere.

I would suggest a night just for experience sake and that's it.

 

For the costs, my personal view is around 5-6K. For ladies and drinks and more drinks and more drinks....

Heard from a lot of guys that isn't not a good hotel to stay at. Too worn down and not worth the price. I bet the one time party could be fun, as mentioned above.

We stayed there for two nights a couple of years ago - it smelt and there are cats walking/ lying around everywhere.

 

The lobby looked like a children's playground with kid's toys lying around everywhere.

 

Not the best experience - and not the cleanest of places, and unless it's had a refurb I guess it's not got any better

If  your set on staying on WS then have a look at Walking Street Guesthouse review and pictures in the pinned section above somewhere owned by a BM on here.Just book a few nights ,then your free to wander around and check other places out?you can then inquire at the penthouse and ask to see the rooms  ,before making your own mind up.There are a number of places on soi`s off WS,such as Secrets,the Grand hotel and fairly new one called W14. Also there`s The Honey Lodge just before the entrance to WS with a pool.

I was about to book this hotel but after reading the reviews and comments my search begins again. I want a party but still like to be able to sleep at some point during the night and the photos of the rooms made me flash of Bart Simpson's clown bed.

Was a regular there until they claimed my wife counted as a girl and not a paying guest of the hotel and charged me a joiner fee on the 3rd girl.

The doorman nearly sprinted to the counter to tell the cashier.

Oh sir you can take any number from our bar - all lady boys at the time.

Its a pain in the arse to book.

Use to love the sleaziness of the joint.

Never seen roaches but plenty of cats and their piss smell.

Maybe go for the walk up rate.

Must say reception are not very guest friendly.

I stayed there for 2 or 3 nights and ended up never sleeping there.

I booked my regular hotel for sleeping and just took a few girls there for a bit of fun.

I agree with all the comments above.

 

It was a very expensive "short time" room for me.

 

Give it a try for something different but I would not recommended booking an entire holiday there.

 

On my first trip I wanted to stay right on Walking Street so I booked at Secrets.

The location is right in the middle of all the action of WS and the price is reasonable.

 

It's the only time I've stayed around the WS area as I found this area was not ideal for my style of holiday.

It's one of your more seedy, sleazy hotels... but I guess the same is said about Pattaya when comparing it with the rest of Thailand.

 

It used to be towards the top of my list perhaps 15 years ago, but more and more gay bars in the neighbourhood (Sois 13/3 and 13/4), which isn't my scene. Plenty newer and nicer hotels now, but for full-on Pattaya effect, it might still be an option. The location is great, close to WS, Beach Road, Royal Garden, etc.

Where it is has nothing to do with the discussion...and..being a block from the end of Beach Rd, and 2 blocks from WS...its not a bad place..quiet at night, but close.

 

It's a trippy place, a definite multi-girl night kinda place.
