Popular hotels in PTY heavily discounted rates

Recommended Posts

I've been searching daily for hotels in PTY for my upcoming trip beginning of April. Page 10 fit my criteria. It wasn't available. As of today, it's become available (as were a few other popular hotels) at a 55% discount for the studio room. Possibly due to cancellations bc of protests. I'm holding out a little longer to see what else happens because of the instability.

and wha did you pay? 55% discount from the rack rate can still be a "normal" or even high rate

Please keep in mind that everything I write is based on my own experiences, my personal preferences and my expectations. YMMV!

There's nothing wrong about being cheap ... but being cheap isn't being smart ... never was, never will be ... it's just cheap

Agoda. Page 10. Studio superior king bed with breakfast. 55.54% discount comes to $73.27 used per night. I'm assuming regular price must be $150.

2.400 THB, that's neither a big discount nor cheap

Ok so you have money, me! i'm a cheap charlie when it comes to hotels, as long as it is clean, safe, and girl friendly, it is only a place to sleep, and every £ saved there is a £ more to spread amongst the girls

Does this meet your criteria - Superior rooms that can sleep 4 for 1100 tbh a night top rate. Might be a bit too expensive for the "cheap charlies" but our drinks and girls are good rates so "cheap charly" could still save money.Always booked out so book a couple of weeks  in advance and you'll get a room no problem. Don't assume that. Check out rates on other sites.

There are without doubt MANY heavy discounts available on Agoda, and Booking.com and on most booking sites indeed.

Due to the various political problems Thailand was 2 million visitors down on the same period last year (January February) and hotels are reacting to this.

However..........do NOT expect to see the discounts every visit. To get the best deals try Agoda (or others) and then keep checking back frequently as the prices are fluctuating quite wildly on some hotels even within a period of a cou7ple of hours.

The fact is the deals are there, the hotels are desperate (some reporting falls of up to 65% in bookings for the next few months) and the deals are there. Just dont expect to find them every visit to the various sites. I saw April Suites on Agoda yesterday for under $20 (booking for March 2014) but that price isnt there now - keep checking.

April Suites has always come in around 40 bucks a night when I have looked, and it is a great price for a very modern and clean room...  They do charge for a second girl, 500 baht.

Also, use the links on Pattaya Addicts to Agoda, it kicks a little money back to help pay for this incredible site, thanks Whitespider!!!

Tim is a great guy who we work with but the prices are the same as Addicts ones.

Here is the same screenshot of prices via Addicts link 2 minutes ago. Its really important to keep checking Agoda frequently as prices fluctuate literally by the minute.

If you add the 17% to the Addicts prices they are both identical at $88.13 AUS

Yes, these sites have cookies or whatever that track if you're interested in a hotel room, browsing an airplane ticket, or a book. Big scandal with Amazon around over a decade ago or so when it was discovered they give newbies discounts and if you've been browsing an item multiple times, they will increase or decrease the price in a pattern that would perhaps get people to pay more.

What I do is, I use one PC from one location to do all my research and window shopping. Then I use an entirely different PC at another location to book things. The easier way to do this is to use proxies and clear caches, but I'm paranoid.
