I had a look there last month mate.First time with a mate doing a visa only phnom pehn.Theres good mongering to be had the cambo girls are a bit shy at first, they don't come at you like there thai sisters.I stayed on 51 street happiness hotel 13 us a night.Small rooms but clean and lads that run it are good value.Find the walkabout pub,a few freelancers got a nice one there one night, that street has some good night life. Also I think its 144 street near the river end good bar area there.Tuk tuk blokes will show ya

I say go to see Angkor Wat.  It is spectacular.  Seeing that place is like seeing the Pyramids in Egypt.

Fly directly into Siem Raep.  Travel outside the big cities can be dangerous.  Siem Raep is quite safe.  Be ready for all kinds of little kids to beg from you and try to sell you stuff.  Don't let it get on your nerves.

Hire a bike in Siem Raep, which can be done cheaply, for a whole day or two days.  Seeing Angkor Wat is definitely a plan.  Be ready to take some photos.

Be careful. Working girls in Phenom Penh are known for carrying HIV. Not only that. Cambodia is a lush breeding ground for different kinds of HIV to include the kind that thrives in sub-Saharan Africa. Why? Because of a UN Peacekeeping Force from Africa what was having fun back in the day. Drug use involving needles is also big in Phenom Penh, and that is bad news for HIV prevention too.
