GO GO Bar opportunties
Im sure everyone that visit's Pattaya, has harboured the idea of investing in a Go Go Bar. Whilst I acknowledge the pitfalls which are many, foreign language, ferang ownership cieling (49%), police bribery/mafia payouts a long with the trust diliemas to name a few, in what is essentially a cash business - that aside, what has struck me since I have been visting the area over the last 4 years is the contrasting cycle which has resulted in a huge dichotomy in the fortunes of many bars on Walking Street.
I'm sure many owners are reluctant to give up their highly prized bars on what is prime location but it does make you wonder how these bars survive with the likes of Alcatraz and Baccara seemingly going from strength to strength to the detriment of many of the smaller bars. The books must make unpleasant reading and may deter Banks from any further lending which may present an opportunity for those interested in making a capital injection for a stakeholding in the bar. This may dilute some of the above associated risks and would be interested in any feedback as too how feasible this would be and ball park figures in terms of likely injection sums whilst acknowledging each bar is unique.
Any input would be most appreciated.
