Extending a "visa on arrival" with a visa run: seeking advice

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of extending my stay, which is currently on a 30 days "visa on arrival". The options seem to be:

land border visa run to get a 15 day visa, or an international flight visa run for another 30 day visa.

I'd appreciate suggestions on the cheapes/fastest way to do either. Presumably there are companies offering these visa runs?.

Any international flights from U-tapao?

TIA

So how much longer do you need? If only 2 weeks then go to one of the Cambodia border visas run companies in Patts and for 2000Bt it'll all be over in 1 day and you'll have an extra 15 days. If you need 30 days then consider flying to Cambodia (PP) on Air Asia, or doing 2 X visa runs in the vans. And if you need even longer then you'd better get onto a tourist visa.

Just to be pedantic you are no an a "visa on arrival". You are in Thailand on a visa exemption program and was given permission to stay in Thailand for up to 30 days. You do not have a visa. The visa on arrival is available to some nationalities who are not eligible for the visa exemption. For the visa on arrival people need to go into an office and apply for a visa before getting to the immigration area at the airport. They are only given 14 days.
