Book hotel room

Recently I've been wondering how do Addicts book there hotel rooms. Do they book direct with the hotel or through online sites like Agoda?? Is it cheaper in the long run to book direct with the hotel or through one of these online sites. The reason why I ask is because I think some hotels charge Addiicts joiner fees for taking a girl back to the hotel if the Addict has booked the room through an online booking site.

In recent years I have always stayed at the Welcome Plaza on the 2nd Road in South Pattaya. And I have always booked direct with the hotel. And because I have booked directly with the hotel they do not charge me a joiner fee when I take a girl back to the hotel at night.

A few months ago I read here in PA that a guy booked a room at the Welcome Plaza through Agoda but had to pay a 300B joiner fee every time he took a girl back to the hotel.

So I have compared hotel prices with Agoda's prices

WELCOME PLAZA PRICE

STANDARD ROOM - 1250B PER NIGHT

JOINER FEE - 0 BAHT

SAME hotel BUT BOOKED THROUGH Agoda

STANDARD ROOM - 900.70b PER NIGHT

hotel TAX AND SERVICE FEES - 159.51B PER NIGHT

JOINER FEE - 300B PER NIGHT

Total - 1060B a night (if you dont take a girl back to the hotel

1360B a night (if you DO take a girl back to the hotel with you)

 

So if you dont take a girl back to your hotel each night then it will work out cheaper booking through Agoda but if you are planning on taking a girl back to the Plaza each night thens its cheaper booking a room directly with the hotel.

I recently passed a comment about joiner fees in some one's posting and an Addict replied that he had booked a room at the August Suites through Agoda and the hotel didn't charge him a joiner fee for taking girl(s) back to his room at night.

So I am guessing that it is cheaper to book a room at August Suites through Agoda rather than directly with the hotel.

 

So what I am trying to say is that sites like Agoda can negoiate cheap prices for hotel rooms but some hotels may charge the guys who have booked through these sites a joiner fee for taking a girl back to his room. So if this is the case it may well be cheaper booking directly with the hotel.

 

So I am interested to know from other Addicts who have booked hotel rooms through online sites have they had to pay the joiner fee

The Agoda site doesn't mention joiner fee's. The guy who booked a room at the Welcome Plaza didn't know he would have to pay the joiner fee until he took a girl back to the hotel for the first time. It was then that he found out. Reception asked him for the 300B joiner fee

I was only using Agoda has an example and it wasn't ment to be a critisism of Agoda or any other online booking sites. Online sites can offer hotel rooms at a cheaper price than if the holiday maker booked directly with the hotel. I think some of these hotels will charge guests who have booked through these sites a joiner fee when they take a girl back to there hotel room. Its a way for then to re-coup there money. And this will mean that in the end us addicts end up paying more for the room than if we had booked directly with the hotel.

So I would love to hear from addicts who have booked through online booking sites. Has the hotel made you pay a joiner fee for taking a girl back to your room. Please add your replies here

I have booked with Agoda a few times and have never been asked to pay joiner fee by hotel.I have never stayed at the Welcome Plaza so i am not sure what star rating this hotel is but from the information i have read on forum,s it is only hotels that will or might charge joiner fee are the 4 and 5 star hotels.

I think the Welcome Plaza is a 3 star hotel

when you book with an agency youhave to tick the box for two people staying in the same room,even though the rate is for the room not per person.ive never had problem.

So does this mean that if you don't tick the box for two people staying you'll be charged a joiner's fee for taking a bar girl back to your room??

I always like to book my room at the "Welcome Plaza" in advance because I like staying in one of the "Junior Suites" and I think the hotel only has 7 of these rooms. So by booking in advance I can make sure I have one of these rooms

Just search for girl friendly hotels and then book those hotels through Agoda.

 

None of the SAWASDEE group of hoels charge a joiner's fees and they have pretty good rooms. U can book directly from their website.
