I was wondering what are the options in Pattaya for getting an AIDs/HIV test? Does anyone have any recommendations and prices and locations?

800B is just for the hiv/aids test right? What about a full STD test including everthing, how much is it?

you mean like chlamydia, syphilis, HPV, herpes, hepatitis B, gonorrhoea and probably a few more I can’t remember?

At the Memorial I'm sure it was the best part of 2000 baht last December, for HIV/Hepatitis A and B (not including other STDs). It was certainly 3000 baht + for the two of us.

Flynn, can you give some more details about this please.

Was it 800 bht for ALL the tests on your screening?

Who did it?

Medicial qualifications?

Where did they get your samples tested?

It's a clinic where many girls go every day, so they get plenty of practice. I'm pretty sure they test the samples at the clinic itself.

Yes, Bua Khao Clinic. Very good, I got treatment there for a lung infection earlier in the year. I was impressed with them. They basically a VD clinic but very good place to go for any type of infections.

This is lifecare lab .. I use them regularly and believe in their work. They are nice and act very professional.

Suprisingly, they do not have a "STD PACKAGE", but here are some individual prices.

Chlamydia Ag 400b

Anti-HIV Rapid Text 350b

Herpes Simplex 500

Syphilis 200

Didn't see a separate Gonorrhea test - it might be rolled into the Chlamydia test.

They will email your results to you.

How long do you have to wait for the results? Is it hours/days/weeks?

Bloods will be an hour or so but urine or swabs will take a few days because they have to wait to see if anything grows in the culture that they make.

Generally if you've already got visible discharge (dribbles) then you'll get a combo chlamydia and gonnorhea treatment on the spot, rather than waiting for test results.

What's unnerving about it? Accept the fact that Thailand is one of the highest risk countries outside of Africa for HIV, and that the bar scene is basically a cess pit of barebacking and infrequent condom usage. You use your judgment and take your chances. Wrapping up will keep you safe 99% of the time, and if you choose to stick it in raw then you know full well that you are rolling the dice.

I got an infected eye, went to memorial hospital, seen doctor, got eye cleaned out and some injections. prescribed some medications and it cost me 2700 bht. Next day seen eye specialist. I was relieved when they told me it was only viral conjunctivitis. I thought I had an STD haha

Scan 120840000.pdf

this cost me 800thb in soi buakhao

I think a test for hepatitis B would make more sense than for chlamydia and gonorrhoea.

(Hepatitis B is transmitted the same way as HIV but it is 1,000 times more infectious.)

their ≠ there ≠ they’re; theirs ≠ there’s; your ≠ you’re; its ≠ it’s; whose ≠ who’s;

bearback ≠ bareback; loose ≠ lose; too ≠ to; wander ≠ wonder; then ≠ than;

men ≠ man; women ≠ woman; know ≠ now ≠ no; quiet ≠ quite; site ≠ sight;

except ≠ accept; of ≠ 've; waist ≠ waste; sure ≠ shore; etc. (et cetera) ≠ ect.

Yep Hep B is some serious shit but most people from a first world country should have been immunized against hep B as a child. If not, the immunization is just one shot and it's cheap... Definitely a must have, because it will cause serious liver problems and probably liver cancer later in life if you catch it.

Most people will know if they catch the gon (the old pissing razor blades), but chlamydia is highly transmissible, asymptomatic in many people and can cause infertility in later life, so it's worth getting checked from time to time, even if you only get BBBJs. Also chlamydia and gonorrhea are "carrier" bugs for HIV - the HIV can catch an easy ride over with the lesser diseases and HIV is much more transmissible if it is passed with a uterine infection. So always a good idea to get a thorough check from time to time, especially considering the long window period for HIV if you are using an older type of test.
