I'd be inclined to discuss this with a VD doc. So you're probably better waiting a couple days so if you have caught something then they'll be some results for the doc to examine.

In any case get STD panel about 1 month later then get treated and obtain HIV and herpes after 6 months from unprotected sex.

Azithromycin is good, but ask for the Azycin brand, not Zithromax. The same drug, but 250 Baht vs. 595 Baht. 1gr flattens every bad bug in your body. Don't eat 2 hrs before and after taking the capsules. Don't panic and wait 2 more days, if you are infected, it'll show quickly.

You don't know if you've caught anyhting yet. I wouldn't worry, a bad smell means nothing except that she's dirty. If you start getting a sore dick, pain while pissing, discharge, or sores then go to the doctor. Don't self medicate whatever you do.

spot on. However azithromycin has an issue as there are some strains of syphilis that have developed a resistance to it. In addition if the strains are resistant it might mask the symptoms without killing it.

 

Suggest all the advice give to you on this has been spot on.

 

If in pattaya go to clinic or the doctor behind the the hardware shop at the end of soi lengkee. He is known as doctor droppy dick from treating so many std's.

 

If in a remote area might be a good idea to hit yourself with 1 gram of azycin (note i got it for 150 bht for six tablets of 250 mg each in chiang mai). So take four either one hour before eatting or two hours after eating. This will kill all but the resistant strains. It also does not hurt to follow up with 500 grams the next day as this really gets the level of the drug up in your system. REad the information that comes with it. There are some side affects etc that you should be aware off.

 

Main thing would be to then follow up this treatment with a blood test. IT MUST BE FOLLOWED UP WITH A BLOOD TEST. I wil repeat this again!

 

In other words everything everyone has said is true but even if you self medicate you will need to follow up with a blood test.

 

Remember exposure to syphilis may result in development of symptoms at the primary stage (there are three stages to the development of this std) It also may result in no symptoms showing at all. Syphilis in the later damage causes damage and whilst it maybe cured the damage it has done can not be repaired. So i do disagree strongly with the idea that if you do not have symptoms do not go and get tested.

 

So it gets back to the fact that you will need to get tested and consult with a professional. Mate even doctors are trained not to self medicate.

Here's the follow up...

 

I went to Bumrungrad (I'm in Bangkok) and saw a doctor. He did a genital exam and I had a creamy discharge way down in my knob that I hadn't seen, although I had felt something was awry. I got tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia and treated for both with the injection and 1000mg azithromycin, I get the results back in a few days so I know which one (or both) that I had. I still have slight, clear dribbles which is slightly concerning so I hope I don't have some resistant strain. I also had an HIV antibody/antigen test (negative) so at least I know I'm HIV negative right now. It was quite expensive (over 6000 baht) but it was the easy option because I've been to Bumrungrad before.

 

I can't be certain whether I caught it from the girl in question or another one, although I suspect it was the Sukhumvit girl because the pussy was just so go damn dripping wet, although in my tequila-induced drunkeness I had managed to convince myself she was just horny, and because I had no symptoms prior to sleeping with her. I have caught chlamydia once before (years ago back home) and that girl's pussy was the same. There's a high probability that I can find the girl again, because she was introduced to me by the owner of a street bar that I regularly go to. So, I feel I should get her treated too.

 

However I'm not sure how to go about broaching the subject with her? Thanks for the thorough update Case. I think it was a wise decision to be proactive and go to the doctor, rather than the wait and see approach that so many people recommend. As the dr found, it appears you did catch something. But early diagnosis will give you the best success in successful treatment.

 

There is (was) and STD clinic on soi4 not far down the street from Nana Plaza on the same side.

 

Good idea following up with the girl. I would discretely tell her that you want to get her tested because you are worried after barebacking about catching STDs. You don't have to tell her yet that you caught something. When you get her tested, after the results (assuming she is positive for gonorrhea/chlamydia) be supportive and tell her you will pay for her meds and assure her that everything is ok.

 

Please follow up and let us know what the results are regarding your lab tests.

Self medicate next time, it's not worth to spend a fortune on the doctors for minor stuff like the clap. Government hospitals like the Banglamung in Pattaya do the same HIV test for 200 Baht, which costs 2,000 or so at International or BPH. And stop caring about or paying for the girl, just tell her she's sick and leave it up to her to do something about it. It's cheaper to self medicate. Because in any case they will prescribe you the medicine (so many times I went to the hospitals in Thailand with what seemed to me as symptoms of some STD and they prescribed some antibiotics to me only then to find out that I had nothing in the first place).

There is also a free or almost free clinic near lumbini park run by the Thai red cross society. Basically they ask you how much you earn, and in the lowest bracket it is free. I think once you are familair with symptoms and treatments, you can self medicate a bit, but it is also important to get tested, as some things like gonorrhea for example can also be symptomless. Also other diseases may take longer to surface. Sometimes antibitoics don't work 100% I had to take three rounds, before I got rid of my symptoms. In the end I used Cefixime, as going the azithromycin route for a third time seemed a little hopeless. That shot is supposed to be pretty effective though.
