Starting to build a house in Thailand Ceremony

When ever we build a house the family always do this ceremony when we raise the first two columns ,at a certain time on a good chosen Buddha day ..here are a few pics ,this will be the biggest single story house we have built .

O yes always a pigs head ,if you look closely it in the center of the table , they had a good drink after then all went home about 10-am ..

That looks one deep footing the Thai man is standing in.

 

Just wondering (purely out of interest) why you had to go so deep for a single story building, was the ground piled up high first?

 

I thought we had only to go down till we hit the Sub-Soil.

 

BTW, I'm a pipefitter - not a builder, and I'm certainly not questioning your work!

Hi there well spouted mate ,the reason is they built up the land a few years ago ,about 1 mt so we went down to about 2.5 to 2.8 mt well into Virgin soil .

Here are some progress picks of this project..

 

This is a Big house about 400 sqm in all ,this is going to be a nice house wood ceilings and floors in some areas \ builtin kitchen with granite counters and a Island counter .
