So Who Replace Rooney Up Front?

Reading Chis Waddle the other day he thinks Gerrard should play up front but, if he plays like he did against Cardiff, he shouldn't even get in the team. Hopefully his form and fitness will improve and he can be a big plus doing what he does best. Cleaning up in defense, asserting himself in midfield and getting forward.

 

Darren Bent is out for three months so this puts a question mark over him as there is about Defoe who can't get into the Spurs team.

 

Academy clones are quequing up for their places but, although being well schooled and showing nice touches, none are prolific in front of goal. Welbeck, Sturridge, Campbell etc. Carroll is another one who just can't seem to get the ball in the net on a regular basis.

 

So why not go down a league and try the guy banging in more than 20 goals a season for the last few years. Lambert. Not an acdemy clone but seems to know what to do.

Sturridge has been in great form lately, so he should be involved.. But I think Welbeck seems like the best replacement atm.

Defoe is always hard to dismiss... Graham would also be fun to see in action for England

Goals? Wellbeck has 6 this season and Sturridge 9. Yes they looked like fine polished players but why not try a bit of rough.

Stuart Pearce debut as Manger of England ended in defeat but proud of fight back from two nil down to drew level then Robben scored a beauty at the dying minutes to give Holland a famous win.. I thought England was ok and Parker in his first captain for England had done well... Bad injury for Chris Smalling with a clash of heads with Huntlaar , he was carried off the pitch by Medical team, hope he is alright... Dont think FA will fancy to give Psyscho a chance to the Euro 2012 in the summer after this result, it is not his fault because of few top players including Rooney gone missing due to injuries..

Looks like Welbeck was given the chance tonight, substituded by Campbell in the 80'ish minute...

Goals from Cahill and Young (defender and midfield). I didn't see the game but I'm sure the youngs guys showed some nice touches but they didn't score.
