Asian Americans living in Thailand?

I am a Korean American but I am considering moving to Thailand to become an English teacher. I was also just curious to see if any Asian-Americans know what life is like in Thailand? I've heard the dating scene is really good for AA males as the (non-hooker) girls prefer them over white guys. How true is this? I should also mention that I come across as introverted and socially awkward towards Americans, but I find it easier to talk to fobs.

 

Also, in a couple weeks I will have time for a week-long vacation and I'm considering either Taiwan, Japan, or Thailand. What parts of Thailand are good to visit for someone like me who isn't interested in prostitutes but wants to see if Thailand would be a good place to live and make friends with the Thai people if I became an English teacher?
