Region 2 Police arrest agent for underage sex workers at North Pattaya Bar

 

Region 2 Police conducted an undercover operation at a Beer Bar in North Pattaya on Wednesday Night and arrested a woman accused of providing underage girls for sex. Officers from the Child and Women Protection Unit conducted the operation at the Family Bar Beer on the Naklua Road whereby a foreign operative, armed with marked bank notes, paid money in exchange for sexual services from two girls under the age of 18. As soon as the transaction took place, officers moved in and arrested Khun Nipar aged 58 who is accused of providing the two girls to the operative. Two girls aged 14 and 17 were detained and later sent to the Banglamung Child Welfare Center where they will remain while the Police investigation continues.

Officers also checked the Tiger Beer Bar at the same location; following complaints the bar employed minors. The Bar license was checked as was the age of all the employees and no irregularities were found on this occasion.

It is only a matter of time before one of our BM’s gets caught up in these stings and ends up on a child sex register and spends a few years in a thai jail. Do we need to watch out for the Women’s Protection Department?

Right after midnight on Tuesday, a team of Police from the Children and Women’s Protection Department of Royal Thai Police Bureau, Region 2, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Kittipong Pong-pa-nit dispatched a foreign undercover police volunteer to the Made in Thailand Beer Bar on Pattaya’s Second Road. The undercover cop went to gather more clues and evidence, after this bar was reported to be involved in child prostitution. After the spy blended with the customers, he was offered 2 teenage girls, aged 16 and 17, to choose for a night of fun for 300 Baht each, plus a tip for the girl. The spy then signaled for the police to identify themselves, and then the officers arrested the owner Miss Jandai Reu-cha, aged 39 from Petchaboon province.

Miss Jandai claimed she was trying to help the 2 girls, as they were from poor families in her home town, and have known each other since the girls were born. She even claimed they offered to be prostitutes all by themselves. Nonetheless, Miss Jandai was charged with 6 criminal offences 1) Committing Prostitution, 2) Employing underage workers without approval, 3) Forcing, Threatening or Convincing Children to behave in the way that is in violation of the law, 4) Employing or Asking Children to do what may endanger them, 5) Taking children under 15 from their parents and 6) Operating a Prostitution Network with or without consent of the prostitutes.

 

 

 

I have spent a few evenings in the Made in Thailand Beer Bar.....this is getting too close to home.

Just found this thread & well reported & it also brings our attention to the facts that things like this goes on & yes there is a very dangerous risk that these young girls could be in a bar & we are none the wiser.

Not just in Thailand mate, there was a case in Perth, maybe 2-3 years back, and a 14yo gal went to work in a city massage/brothel. According to the newspaper report the gal only worked there one day before getting sprung by vice but she did have a considerable number of customers on that one day. So if in doubt one should check IDs back home too.

This is why I try to stick to older ladies. I would hate to think I have some fresh 18 yr old, and next thing you know the cops are banging down the door and she's only 15. Too much risk with these young ones.

i remember in a bar in Phuket 2 yrs ago ...take a photo together with a couple girls .. ask them how old they are, they say 22 and one even 25 ! they both looked to be barely 15-16 but dressed like whores and with heavy make up... after 2 minutes they were already with other farangs ready to be barfined.

 

it's not always easy to spot them and there must a huge underground market for fake IDs.

 

however, i think the underages are mostly in massage parlours rather than beer bars as it's easier to hide them and keeping a low profile.

I stand to be corrected by anyone who knows different, but despite living in the midst of a BG enclave for a while and the Ex having a bar and employing girls, I never heard of fake IDs being available.

 

They may be lost and 'found' and borrowed etc. and we had a LB in the bar with a female ID 'she'd' found, but it is quite a palava to get a replacement one and I don't know if it's that easy to create forgeries since they went plastic.

 

One loophole was that children didn't have to apply for an ID card until 15yo (recently reduced to 13) so if an earlier DoB could be used eg by 2 years then the girl could work from 16yo. Even then, I only heard of that being possible for someone with access to the back door of the Amphur's office wherever she was born.

 

There may be a market, but I doubt it's "huge" and it would have to be well "underground" - not as easy as those teaching diplomas.

as far as i've read in some pattaya newspapers most of "Farang Police" in WS are former cops who retired in thailand.

they're not all westerns by the way, their boss seems to be an ex indian policeman.

 

no idea about their anti-child-prostitution unit, maybe it's the same bunch or maybe they use unsuspecting expats ?

If they look like they could not POSSIBLY be underage,

that is your ONLY safeguard, your common sense.

 

It's easy enough to find 25-30 year olds who look 17 and are in top shape,

why take a risk with younger?
